Ureadahead can't cope with separate /var

While I had noticed a few error messages regarding ureadahead during startup for awhile now, I never got around to investigate them until today. I was wondering if I could squeeze just that little more out of my system during boot and my first stop was ureadahead. The first thing I noticed was that ureadahead didn't produce a pack file in /var/lib/ureadahead/ so I checked the .conf file in /etc/init/ and it seemed allright. Around the webs people assumed it was a problem with the package or some residual files from previous setups however apt is an excellent package manager and my install isn't that old, wanting to know for sure I checked, but no luck all config files and binaries where just fine. Then I stumbled across this bug report where the maintainer of ureadahead states that ureadahead can not cope with a separate /var , and knowing my system well I indeed have a seperate /var. So alas, my system will not be using ureadahead or it's predecessor sreadahead anytime soon.
As the last post in the bugfile tacticaly stated:

sudo aptitude purge ureadahead sreadahead
bug "fixed"
